ARTWORK Talon International needs artwork to create your paper trim. Our expert graphics department can create artwork for you, or you can submit it as a digital computer file. Depending on the nature of your project, we may recommend changes after receiving your art to ensure optimal printing.
Proofing Cycle Talon International will provide a digital proof designed to show accurate colors within 10% of the final printed item. Depending on the complexity of your job, digital proofs can usually be produced in 48 hours. You will need to carefully review and sign your approval on this proof before work can proceed on your job. After this stage, substantial production costs will be incurred and you want to avoid changes if possible. Talon International now produces the final film and a final match print proof, which shows accurate colors within 5% of the final printed item. This is usually available in 2-3 days after you've approved your digital proof.
Please note that both digital and match print proofs are not shown on the actual paper stock to be used for your job. Modern proofing systems are highly reliable, but they are different technical processes than actually printing on paper. Certain limitations of printing presses will affect the final outcome of-your piece, including the nature of the paper you're printing on. Also be aware that spot PMS colors are only approximated in the proofing process and are shown "for position only." Always refer to the Pantone Matching System (PMS) to see the actual color that will print. If you have any concerns, please feel free to speak with your Talon International representative.
PRODUCTION After you've signed off on the final match print, paper trim will be manufactured in 10 to 20 days, depending on the size and complexity of the job. Projects with die cutting, film lamination or other finishing techniques naturally take longer than simple square-cut items.
SHIPPING Talon International offers printing services in the U.S. and overseas. In many cases, product can be locally trucked to your point of delivery. In other situations, airfreight or ocean freight will be required.
Regional Trucking 1-2 days.
Air Freight 3-5 days.
Ocean Freight At least 3 weeks, possibly longer, (but much more affordable than air freight).
PACKAGING Most items will be bundled in packages of 250 and packed in cartons, although special packaging needs can be met.
PRICING (approximate) Pricing is highly dependent on quantity. There are significant set-up charges to prepare a press for your specific job, but then it's relatively inexpensive to keep the press running for larger quantities. Therefore, there are substantial cost savings at higher quantities. The minimum order quantity is 25,000 units. The following are typical approximate unit costs for different printed marketing items.
